Launch of the new Singapore Sports Hub
Yesterday saw the launch of the new Singapore Sports Hub and this coincided with another public event, One Year To SEA Games. Next year, Singapore will host the regional sporting event, SEA Games; the new Sports Hub has been built in anticipation of the SEA Games.
I was there yesterday to juggle and entertain visitors as they streamed into the atrium between the Kallang Wave shopping mall and the Sports Museum. I saw some stilt-walkers and a balloon scultor as well.
Visitors to the Sports Hub yesterday could enjoy various activities. Besides a mass walk-and-jog activity, there were stage games comprising Singapore athletes and members of the general public, and booths for people to sign up as volunteers at the SEA Games next year. The event ended with a beautiful fireworks display that lit up the nighttime sky over the Sports Hub.
