High Velocity in Toa Payoh

Over the weekend, while Singapore was gearing up for the F1 night race in the city, another high velocity show was taking place in Toa Payoh. During the evening-time event in Toa Payoh Central, the show "Velocity" sped from the starting line all the way to a suspenseful high-energy finish!

"Velocity" features Jimmy Lim as "Jimmy J, Motion Artist", and is produced by Concept:Magic.

Mall anniversary shows

That's a large 5-tiered birthday cake in the background of the first photo image below. This mall was celebrating its anniversary and held various shows to entertain the mall patrons. These are photos grabbed from video footage of my juggling show in the mall.

Fiery fun during the finale. The audience is safe behind the blue barrier.

Stage whisper!

An appreciative couple watching my show.

Glowing Orbs

Yesterday I received my new props! They are beautiful and light up much better than the ones I have been juggling with. Eager to try them out, I brought them to last night's private dinner event to perform. These glowing orbs light up the darkness very well and change colours very smoothly.

JimmyJuggler meets OKTO performers

At a recent and well-organised event, I met two very talented kids who performed solo acts before my turn to do my show. Previously, in 2009, Dean and Ranen had competed in the OKTO One Minute of Fame contest.

During my show, when I called for volunteers, both of them came onstage readily and were very enthusiastic.

After the show, Dean and I posed for photos taken by his very supportive mum. Dean is the OKTO One Minute of Fame winner. His act combines dance and magic, and I'm sure he's going to go a long way with it.

Jimmy and Dean point the way forward!

Heat and Light - Tropical Night event shows

This took place yesterday at a private club in Singapore. The theme of the event was "Tropical Night" and they weren't kidding! My show at 1pm was performed under the tropical sun by the poolside; no shelter or tent was provided over the stage. Thankfully the audience could sit in the shade. I had to be careful not to get blinded by the sun whenever I looked up while juggling or balancing things on my head. The bartender and waiters by the poolside were kind and filled my water-bottle with lots of ice.

The 8:30pm show was performed on the same outdoor stage but it was a comparatively cooler affair. Yet it presented another challenge. I adjusted the spotlights to make sure I could see what I was doing without too much of the light shining into my eyes while performing. For the night show, I added the fire-manipulation act before the grande finale!

All in all, it was very satisfying to entertain the audience at both shows in the club, which by the way, has a very pleasant air-conditioned lobby to hang around in.
